In today’s crowded music industry it’s so refreshing to receive a New Album that features sensational vocals and music that has been written by a very talented artist.
Tony Lindsay is a name that has been associated with one of the world’s leading musicians for many years.
As lead singer with Carlos Santana for some 25 years, he has certainly achieved what so many artists can only dream about… Multi-Platinum Selling Albums, Global #1 Music Charts Success, Sell-Out Live Performances at some of the World’s Biggest Arena’s and Stadiums and 11 Grammy-Awards.
Since heading out on his own Tony Lindsay has released several solo projects… His latest Something Beautiful really showcases the extraordinary talent and demonstrates yet again just how good Tony’s vocals are after so many years at the top of his game.
His passion for singing and producing stunning tunes… as he calls them, is still obvious after so many Santana and solo projects. His velvety tones and powerful voice provide all 9 new tracks with so much style and this album really is in a class on its own!
Most of the tracks written by Tony are pure delight to listen too, the opening track ‘Sweet Light’ is a very tasty jazz tune that will have you signing or humming it all day! The New Album Something Beautiful is a very enjoyable album that draws from Adult Contemporary, Soul, R&B and Jazz.
We asked Tony what keeps him motivated in writing and producing these days after so much success over the years… He simply loves singing and still gets such a buzz from continuing to not only record more new music… but he also still loves to perform live across various parts of the world… including the U.S., Europe and Japan.
“The overwhelming reactions from a live audience and from my fans… is the best feeling in the world.”
Grammy-winning producer Narada Michael Walden was quoted as saying…
“Tony Lindsey is one of the world’s great singers,” he says. “We know and we revere Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles…Tony Lindsay is on par with all three of those.”
Walden is a pretty good judge of talent. At his Tarpan Studios in Marin County, he’s hosted such greats as Charles, Al Green, Diana Ross, Sting and James Brown. He’s also no stranger to the Grammys, having won Producer of the Year in 1987, Album of the Year (for “The Bodyguard” soundtrack) in 1993 and Song of the Year (for Aretha Franklin’s “Freeway of Love”) in 1985.
