Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (JJF) is one of the largest Jazz festivals in the world and arguably the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere, held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The annual Jazz festival is held every early March and was designed to be one of the largest jazz festivals globally. It was held for the first time in 2005, when approximately 125 groups and 1,405 artists performed in 146 shows. The first festival was attended by 47,500 visitors during its three-day stretch.
The Java Jazz Festival, the biggest music extravaganza in Southeast Asia, is set to return for its return in March 2018, boasting yet another stellar line-up of International and local musical acts.
In the festival’s first 10 years, organizers brought over legendary musicians such as the late James Brown, Carlos Santana, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang and Stevie Wonder. The festival’s theme throughout its first decade was ostensibly “Bringing Indonesia to the World,” even as it brought in the big international stars, which it tried to balance out by promoting local acts such as Addie M.S., Agnez Mo, Dira Sugandhi, Sandhy Sondoro and many others.
Says Paul Mac, founder of PhaseGlobalRadio.com: “This music festival is one of the largest in the world, and it’s an honour and privilege... to be involved again for 2018, as the only truly global smooth jazz radio network.. it brings the festival that much closer to a true world wide audience and also expands the reach for music lovers everywhere to get involved with the festival... and to visit Jakarta... for what has been one of the biggest music events... for so many years!”
